This rare wide dagger comes from the Makaa of the Cameroon Grasslands. It shares aesthetic similarities with daggers from the Fang of Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon. One account describes it as a hunting and war knife, but it seems more probable that it was an object of status and prestige (Zirngibl & Kubetz, Panga Na Visu, 2009).
