This shield type comes mostly from the northernmost Ngombe and also the neighboring Mbanja and possibly also from the eastern Ngbaka. The handle board has distinct designs, yet resemble some made by the Ngbaka and Poto (Baur & Elsen, Guba: Wicker Shields from the Congo Basin, 2002).
