The origin of this style of dagger, each with a unique handle carved with geometric designs, is from the western Bamileke culture, in the Dschang area. Specimens of this type are rare; one was illustrated in Buschan, Illustrated Ethnology, 1922 (Zirngibl & Kubetz, Panga Na Visu, 2009)
